I have lied and cheated in my life, never had a proper guidance, if it was available I had ignored it. falsely, thinking I could do better without anyone’s advice.

“Gandhi My Father”, has touched me and woke me up. It gave me two views in life. One for the son, who wants to advance in his career and failed, repeatly. The other view, form the father, who doesn’t care about what his son wants but rather take his son with him in the struggle of freedom.

I don’t blame the son (Harilal) for wanting a good career but I do belive, Harilal (eldest son of Mahatma), was wrong. Not because he ended up a bum but because he put his career before the strugle movement. Career is worth nothing in front of the freedom. Mahatma tried to guide Harilal in the right direction but Harilal was just too stuborn.

The movie is good, I liked it but I wanted to know more than what this movie tells the audience about Harilal. I wanted to know, why Harilal could’t work and get his own money to go to the school in England. Mahatma could have helped Harilal but Mahatma had different plans for his son and the tenion raises between father and the son.
