Around three weeks ago I start this site, I was planning to compile a collection of news stories running around the Gandhigiri after release of Sanjay Dutt starer film Lage Raho Munnabhai.
I really like the film that’s why I devote this site to this topic.
But Now I am getting a feeling that media and some modern day money maker are using Gandhi as their tool to earn money … they have not anything to do with the Gandhi’s principal or teachings… they just know one thing… How to make money on the latest trends… and latest trends after Lage Raho Munnabhai is Gandhigiri.
Young generation found a new interest in Gandhi, so businessman found a new avenue for revenue, and they are coming in lots, like book sale about Gandhi has increased many folds since release of LRMB.
T-shirt maker found the new brand of Gandhi, even Gandhi is on the Coffee cup and plates too.
Is it right thing to do?
I think it is right because whatever is the mean or the way, at least people are talking about Gandhi is positive way… and I am sure once people know what Gandhi has done and written in details… I am sure no one can ignore this person named Gandhi….. In the words of Rajnish , “Gandhi is like gold …. And whoever is our national father must be gold, try to put him on the fire, again and again … and you will see that he is shining more each time…. If it is not the case .. then he is not gold, hence do not deserve our respect or the place we have given to him… so just try to put him on the fire of criticism and read more about him”
And in my personal view, after reading in context of Gandhi’s situation … no one can deny the greatness of Gandhi and his modern day Gandhigiri.
What you say?
Most likely, this wave of Gandhigiri will slow down soon and almost vanish. People are always pragmatic in the long run. Gandhigiri has certianly provided one more avenue of doing things that most people can afford but it has to produce tangible resutls quickly otherwise it will be adondoned. I don’t believe there is an appetite for patience in many people and full beleif in Gandhi’s way of life.
However, I pray to be prooven wrong…
